What's New in Version 2 of Baslogue

Baslogue version 2 has a number of new features when compared with version 1.  If you are upgrading from version 1, please review the list below, which will summarise the new features.

Updated and New Features

• ISBN Lookup, search engine - ISBN Lookup has been updated and modified to now use OpenLibrary.org as the online search database (the previous version used ISBNdb.com).  For more details on using ISBN Lookup, see the online help page for Entering a New Item using ISBN Lookup.
    
• ISBN Lookup, clickable URL - as part of the above update, you can now specify that the "OpenLibrary Key" should be stored within Baslogue, when scanning a new item.  If you choose this option, then you will later see a clickable URL for each book when browsing the catalogue - clicking on this URL will take you to OpenLibrary's listing for this book, with additional details and cover photos etc (see screenshot below - URL is to the right of the "Export to Excel" button).  For more information, see the updated ISBN Lookup setup page.
     
  
     
• New colour themes - version 2 contains two new colour themes for how the user interface looks: "Standard Theme" and "Dark Theme".  The colour theme from version 1 is retained as a third option, and is called the "Legacy Theme".  The "Standard Theme" is now the default theme, after installing version 2.  Access to these three themes is available from the "View" menu.  The new themes look best on Windows 8 and 10, while the Legacy theme probably looks better on Windows XP and 7.  See below for screenshots of the three themes, in order of Standard, Dark and Legacy.  Click on each thumbnail to see a full-size image.
