Baslogue ®

DATABASE CONNECTION SETTINGS

Baslogue® is capable of connecting to a Microsoft SQL Server database or to a MySQL database.  Please refer to Choosing Database Platforms for further details.

When the following screen is showing, select the database platform that you are using and then enter the appropriate connection details:

Connection Details for Microsoft SQL Server

You are only required to enter the name the Server that the database is installed on (this may be the same as the Baslogue® Server) and the name of the database within that server.  The Server Name may include the SQL Server instance name - for example, if you have installed SQL Server Express on a machine called "SERVER-PC" your Server Name will probably be "
SERVER-PC\SQLEXPRESS"

Baslogue® uses Windows Authentication when establishing a connection to the database.  So no user information needs to be entered on the above screen.  However, you must ensure that the Windows User that the Baslogue® Server runs as has full access to the database (db_owner privileges).  See Configure Service for more details.

Connection Details for MySQL

You must enter the Server Name and Database for an empty MySQL database that you have already created.  Please note that non-standard ports are not supported by Baslogue® - the standard MySQL port of 3306 is assumed for all connections.

Baslogue® also needs a User Name and Password when establishing a MySQL connection.  You must supply a user that has full access to the database specified above.

Clicking "Next >" will establish a database connection, and then take you to the Run Script dialog.
