CHANGING ROLES (STANDALONE EDITION ONLY)

There are three different modes of operation, or "roles" available for use within the Standalone Edition of Baslogue^®. The role that is currently active controls what features of the application the user has access to. The three roles are:

Catalogue Browser - under this role the user can view the catalogue and search for items, but cannot modify anything. This role cannot view the person listing (Person tab).
Check-In / Check-Out - under this role the user can view the catalogue and search for items, as well as perform the check-in and check-out process for catalogue items - i.e. can process an item out for loan, and record an item as being returned. This role can view, but not modify, the person listing (Person tab). This role can be password protected.
Super User - under this role the user can do everything. This role can be password protected.

To change the current role, select the desired role from the "File | Change Role to" menu option from the main menu:

If a password has been set for the role you are changing to, and you are changing to a higher level role (e.g. from Check-In / Check-out to Super User), then you will be prompted to enter the password.

The currently active role is shown in status bar at the bottom-right corner of the Main Window.
