PERFORMING REGULAR DATABASE BACKUPS
It is always
important to backup your data regularly.
The Data Export wizard can be used as an adhoc
backup tool. However, for regular backups it is recommended to
use the backup functionality that comes with your database
software. This way the entire database can be backed-up, rather
than just the data that it contains. Also, a database backup can
generally be scheduled so that it occurs automatically.
The method of
scheduling a regular backup will vary depending on what database
software you use, and on what version or edition of that
software. Please refer to the documentation that comes with your
database software for further information on how to set up regular
backups of your database (i.e. the documentation that comes with
Microsoft SQL Server or with MySQL).
