SECURING INFORMATION WITH PASSWORDS (STANDALONE EDITION ONLY)
Baslogue® contains
some data that you may not want to be available to all users.
Furthermore, you may only want certain people to be able to change
data.
To assist in this,
the Standalone Edition of Baslogue® has three "roles", or modes of
operation:
You can place a password on the "Check-in / Check-out" and the "Super User" roles. This will require users to type in this password when changing roles. By default these roles do not have any password.
Select the
appropriate option from "Setup |
Security" menu to set the password for that role. This can
only be done while connected in the Super User role.
You will get a
dialog like the following:
Enter the desired
password twice, once in each field, and click OK. To remove the
password, simply clear out both fields and click OK.
DO NOT FORGET THE SUPER USER
PASSWORD. The Super User role is the only role that can
change passwords.
To learn how to change roles, see Changing Roles.
(In the Database Edition, access is controlled on a per-user basis - see User Security for more information.)
