Returning Catalogue Items

RETURNING CATALOGUE ITEMS

Baslogue^® provides a number of options for processing the return of an item. Choose the option that is most appropriate to your needs. The first option is ideal if you are using barcodes with a barcode scanner. The other options are good for adhoc or low volume transactions.

OPTION 1 - USING BARCODES

This is the best option if you are using barcodes for catalogue items. You do not have to use a barcode scanner to use this option - you can type in the Barcode IDs using your keyboard. But it will be a lot quicker if you have a barcode scanner available.

OPTION 2 - RETURNING A SINGLE ITEM (no barcode required)

You can return a single directly from the item dialog box.

First Search for the Catalogue Item.
Once you have found it, double-click the item or click on the Edit Item button to open up Catalogue Item Dialog.
Once inside the item dialog box,

click the Return Item button

then click OK to close the dialog.

OPTION 3 - RETURNING MULTIPLE ITEMS (no barcodes required)

You can return multiple items by using the Update Multiple Items dialog box.

First Search for the Catalogue Items. By applying grouping, sorting, filtering you can narrow down the list of items visible.
Once you have found all of the items that you want to return, select all of the items, then click the Update Multiple Items button (see the help for this button if you are not sure how to select more than one item at the same time).
Once inside the Update Multiple Items dialog,

set the Status to "Available for Loan",
then click OK to close the dialog.
