IMPORTING SONGS FROM AN XML FILE
To avoid having to
enter songs manually, songs can be imported from an XML File. An
XML File is simply a text file that contains one or more songs in a
standard layout. The XML File will probably have come from one of
two sources:
- From running the
Export Folder feature available
from the main window - either on the
same computer or from a copy of SlideGen® installed on a different
computer.
- From a
third-party provider who has agreed to supply you with an XML File for
the purpose of importing their songs into SlideGen®.
In order to receive the file, you will probably need to enter some sort
of a licensing agreement with the third-party.
To import an XML File,
select File | Import Folder
from the main menu on the main window.
You will then be presented with a standard Windows "File Open"
dialog. Browse to the XML File that you wish to import, and then
click Open.
Re-importing
an XML File
If you wish to import an XML File that you have previously imported -
maybe because there are new or updated songs in the file - do NOT delete the existing folder
before re-importing. If you delete the folder then you will lose
all copyright management history associated with the deleted
songs. Instead, you should just re-import the file. Any
existing songs will be automatically updated, and any new songs will be
added.
